Due to the extraordinary situation of the Virginia Golf Club withdrawing from the Silver competition this year, the following procedures will be in place for Division 1.
The draw will be played as it stands,
Teams playing against Virginia will have and automatic bye, and will not be required to be present at the venue,
Zero points will be awarded when having a bye, and
Matches will still be played and hosted at Virginia Golf Club on the 29th of May.
Electronic devices, whether they be electronic measuring devices, or listening devices such as IPODS or MP3 players are not permitted during a match, by the player or caddy.
Pennant Regulations 2009, General Conditions e) and f) say that pennant matches are played unless the Management of the Host Club considers the course to be unplayable; therefore, if in doubt, Captains/players need to contact the venue in order to establish this. Otherwise teams turn up, prepared to play. Bad weather alone does not stop pennant matches being played.
Please ensure that the results are sent to fax number 3804 1891 promptly, so that results can be sent to the newspaper for “hopeful” publication, and posted on the web site.
